The get outside theme was a little tough because I donât have that many âoutdoorsâ stamps and didnât want to just go with flowers or a butterfly, but the stamps I do have generally need coloring and I didnât have any of my pencils or markers to work with.
I did have an aqua brush and some ink pads so I decided to try that. I stamped the boat image from Wonderful Woodcuts (a Stampin Up set that is old enough to buy beer this year!) onto watercolor paper. I smushed the distress oxide ink pads against the inside of their lids which pulls up a little bit of the color, but plenty for my needs. I painted the image with faded jeans, stormy sky, tumbled glass, and walnut stain. Then let it dry and cut it out.
I cut a square of blue-gray cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot with the square wonky stitch die. I glued the image onto the square and set aside.
I layered two coordinating pieces of pattern paper (a very old 8x8 Colorbok pad)onto the white card base and attached with tape runner, then covered the divide with silver ribbon and attached the stamped image piece with foam tape.
This also is part of my âold sketch challengeâ project as it used sketch #10 as inspiration.

Lovely nautical card. Great image and love the matching design papers too. The top one looks so much like clouds and was perfect for this sky on this card.
