Beverly introduced a technique called Strip Flip. The idea is to create an ombre background (or use ombre designer paper) and lay them out in an alternating pattern so each strip is flipped to creating a dark/light background. Technically, mine is not done correctly. I cut strips from shimmery, ombre specialty paper (SU), and cut each 12" strip into 4" lengths. So I actually have dark, lighter, light in my pattern. I should have left out either the very darkest or the very lightest strips. Sigh. At any rate, this was fun and I'll do it again!

But it looks fabulous with those colors so I'm glad you left them. Your colors are wonderful. I love this look. I'll have to go check out that technique. Beautiful card.

The shimmer is fab, a beautiful background for those golden butterflies.
Yes, I had to think about the size of paper to start sponging - I reckoned if it was too big, the effect would be lost by the time I cut my strips down.
