The base on the card is actual birch bark. My husband's aunt sent me some and I am loving using it on cards.
The sentiment is calligraphy my son did, and I thought this birch paired nicely for a great Father's Day. I popped the sentiment up with dimensioanls and added the heart.

Great looking card, Lisa! I was looking closely at the background, trying to figure out how you got your paper to peel so interestingly! Then I read your description : ) What a wonderful gift your husband's aunt sent you!
The calligraphy is fantastic, too ~ love this.

What a cool background! I was looking at it trying to figure out what technique you used to shred the paper….turns out I couldn’t figure it out because it wasn’t paper! Great idea!
