This is for today's Alphabet Challenge. This week's letter is J for junk.
I decided to try a collage style with bits and pieces of junk and other goodies. I looked through my junk mail and pulled out the treble clef and tore around it. I also use coffee filters for my French press and cut the edges off so they fit better. I have saved some of those off cuts thinking I might use them at some point. My SIL gave me some old music and I used some of that here too. And, for my stencil, I used the grid from a bag of onions.
First, I sprayed liquid yellow watercolor through the grid and let it dry. I then added Vintage Photo sponged through the same onion packaging grid.
Next, I prepped all the pieces I thought I would use, fussy cutting them, tearing some of them, etc, and then sponging all the edges with Vintage Photo. I took the coffee filter off cut and dipped it in watered down Vintage Photo ink to give it some color. Interesting how the color separates into various colors.
Now for the really hard part, figuring out how I wanted to arrange the bits and pieces. This is the arrangement I went with. I popped one of the postage stamps up. I folded the coffee filter off cut and stapled it in the corner. I stamped the sentiment, sponged it, and popped it up. I added the pearls and added the entire panel to a Night of Navy base. I hope you like my arrangement of junk!
Thanks for the challenge and thanks for looking!

Such a wonderful "pile" of junk, Catherine. I particular thought it clever to spray through the onion netting...clever! Love your compilation of junk! I think it's time I thought about some junk! I, too, appreciate your sharing your creative journey!
