I started a Travel the World card series in 2019, committing to virtually visit a different randomly-selected country each week (for 50 weeks), gathering tidbits of information about the country. I love to travel and this is one way I can "visit" countries that I might otherwise never see. As I learn about each country, I choose something about that country as inspiration for a card.
This is the fourth (and final) year of this series. By the end of 2022 I will have virtually visited all 195 countries in the world.
This card is inspired by Suriname, the smallest country in South America. With tropical rainforests, quaint villages and roaring rivers Suriname attracts up to 300,000 tourists annually, which is over half of the country's entire population.
