January is a busy birthday month for our family. This one will go to our son. Dug out my TH Bird Crazy set - I was inspired by several sightings of these birds in the gallery recently. This is cased from a similar card that I saw on Pinterest but I couldn't figure out who to credit so, thanks to the creator for the layout and inspiration!
Used the colours for this week's challenge to ink up my bird and gift. Used the DD Arrows stencil to create a background. The gift is die cut three times to give it some dimension. I masked the bird and the 'birthday' part of the sentiment and splattered the leftover inks all over the card panel. Placed the layered die cut "happy". Used Glossy Accents on the 'happy' die-cut, the bow on the gift and the bird's eyes.
As I am the impatient type, I thought I'd speed up the drying time of the Glossy Accents with my embossing tool. The poor bird's eyes immediately started to bubble so I quit. Thought I'd given the poor fella cataracts! A fresh layer of Glossy Accents and he could see again - and I headed to bed and let the card dry overnight.
CC878 = Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point (I used the distress ink equivalents)
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

I had to smile with your description...especially the part of grabbing the heat gun to speed things up. Been there!!! : ) Your birthday card is terrific with the crazy bird all dressed up for his party....and ready to open the pretty package.

Such a fun card. The Crazy Birds always make me smile! And I loved your story about the heat gun; it sounds like something I’d do. Your card turned out great! (And I’m happy your bird doesn’t have cataracts)

So fun! Wonderful use of the challenge colors. Your Crazy Bird birthday card is terrific. Love the stenciling. The gloss on the die-cut word is fabulous. Thanks for the tip about not using the heat gun to speed things up. I enjoyed your write-up. Great card!

You've created a fun and very cute card. Plus, you gave me a huge chuckle about the cataracts. I do like the glossy accents on the sentiment and eyes.
