A card for today's MMTPT703 challenge, sending hugs to Kati, a '30 something' old gal who is possibly terminally ill. My prayer is that all the paper hugs she receives will bring her joy and comfort.
Now, my story. Today was my first attempt to stamp this wonderful windmill/tulip stamp set. It is harder than it looks, to get the rows of flowers evenly spaced and distance focused. But I didn't want to throw out the paper, so I imagined this is how things went down on the farm.
It was mom and dad's wedding anniversary, and they went to Paris to celebrate, leaving Johnnie to finish planting the last field. He was also in a hurry, as he wanted to go to his friend's house to watch the football game: Holland vs Italy. He roughly lined up the rows and started the tractor to plant the bulbs. Looking into the sun, he sort of lost the exact end of the row, so the left row was a bit further apart. Each colour was planted in batches and right when he was almost finished, he looked at his watch and saw it was almost time for the football game to start. He decided to finish the last bit tomorrow. That evening it started to rain and it rained for the next 2 days. The fields were not dry enough for planting for several days, and Johnnie was enjoying the time playing video games with his buddies and partying in the evenings. The day before his parents were due home, he decided he should finish planting. Hurriedly grabbing the sack of bulbs and putting them into the planter, he did not see that they were a later blooming variety. All was well until next spring, when, the center portion of the field did not bloom along with the rest!
That's my story and I am sticking to it.

Omigosh....you need to send that story along with the card because it is making me laugh out loud. Your card is beautiful and I didn't even notice the bare patch til I read your story. Even then, your card is beautiful. Love the peaceful scene and I imagine Kati will too. I still don't know which I enjoy more -- your story or the card. I guess it's a tie. Great job.

Love your multi media card; stamping/story telling! I didn't notice any blank spots in your stamping either. This is a lovely scene to cheer the recipient!

LOL! Your story is a hoot, and very creative. I can just imagine Johnnie slacking off while the parents are away : ) As the others have said, I doubt I would have picked up on the "bare" patch or the inconsistency in the placement of the rows! We are our own worst critics! I can't remember if those stamps are rubber or clear ~ if they're rubber, they would be extra difficult to line up! Your completed card is very colorful and cheerful and the scene is very peaceful!

this is wonderful. That windmill looks so real and the colors of the flowers leading up to it are just perfect. I know you put a lot of work into it, but anyone who does cards will realize this as soon as they see it.

OMG - This story made me laugh out loud - at first I thought you had paper pieced the field (that may have been easier) but I say bravo you for persevering through football games, partying with friends, video challenges et al.

I thoroughly enjoyed your story! I agree you should include it with the card. It was so funny I showed it to my daughter. I love all of the details. Thanks for sharing both the card and your storytelling.
