If I said I had a blast with this week's WCW, that would be an understatement. I have three more cards in the hopper!!!!!
The WCW technique is using a larger round brush in a vertical and angled direction to make circles that will bleed into each other. It's a wet on dry technique but you need to have a fair amount of water to make the bleeding happen. I sure had fun with this.
This third card I'm uploading is also for Lisa's WT-a sympathy card. I've been to four funerals in the past three months so I know the need. I don't like to make super typical cards for this so I used the WCW technique but only used Payne's grey, a favorite color of mine. I used more water than pigment, selectively dotting some of the grey after painting a water circle. I heat embossed some leaves with gilded ep and stamped the same leaf along the edge in black.
I am not fond of 'with sympathy' on cards, seems rather cold. 'Thinking of you' is fine; 'thoughts and prayers'....no thank you!!!! Way over used!!!!!! I also find it interesting that often there are flowers on sympathy cards but everyone is so conscious of gender when making cards. Flowers aren't for men, right? Ok, I'll get off my soapbox.
I also decided to CASE Tranna (grannytranny). She died the end of 2021, was a DG and a good friend of Betty (sweet Irene). I'm very sad about this, as she was young at heart and vital. Only 68....no words. This is what I CASEd: FS503 Falling Leaves by grannytranny at Splitcoaststampers

Your gilded embossing powder made such beautiful leaves to go with your circles. So glad you are enjoying the WCW challenge this week. I am so sad about Tranna (grannytranny. Such a special, sweet person.

A lovely sympathy card - just what I like in a sympathy card, muted colours, a very simple sentiment (I agree with you that "thinking of you" is often the best one). Love the embossed leaves over the watercoloured circles.

I really like Thinking of You on sympathy cards too. Maybe because that is pretty much what I have in sentiments but still, that is what I am drawn to. I love your idea of using leaves! Your circles are absolutely stunning! Can, I say that I LOVE all of your cards but this one is just a bit more my favorite? I think this is stunning, just what a sympathy card should be!
