Wanted to play with new supplies from SS Stamps and trying to make a card for a friend who loves teal. This wasn't a difficult card, but it was really time consuming because I didn't know what I was doing on the flower die cut at first.
To start, I wanted some texture so I used the ef on a piece of white cs and then ran it back through the Big Shot to flattened the pattern out. I was surprised but it shows up pretty well in the photo (the darker blue card). Stenciled the peony & leaves on white card stock in two colors each. Added the die cut circles and leaves (on lighter card).
I ink blended scraps of paper in the same lighter colors and die cut the flowers. This was the "long" part because I wanted the inlaid petals to be ink blended darker but not the frame. In the end, I used a piece of Press n Seal (PnS) on the front of the die cut to keep everything in place, Turned over and used another piece of PnS on the back. Removed the first piece of PnS and removed the outline cut of the flower Ink blended the darker colors onto the petals and then put the outline back in place, Used the PnS on the front of the card again, Removed the back piece; applied glue and placed in on the card front, I tried to turn over the die cut without the first piece of PnS but the bitty pieces went flying. And I did manage to fling a couple off the PnS when I was ink blending. But it worked pretty well in the end. Finished off with embossed sentiments,

Both beautiful! You are clever. The stenciling on both, the designs, and the colors, fabulous. My fav is the one in the circle, a contemporary look.
