This card was made for a sketch challenge and for a thematic challenge that required the use of three different pattern papers.
I found that the Stampin' Up! (SU) Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack titled "Bird Ballad" had all the pattern papers I needed - in fact, I used four patterns instead of the three required! I think the patterns make the card look very feminine, which is something I don't often create.
I started by using the pattern paper that has two birds sitting on a branch. I added a 0.04" border around them and and cut them out easily with my ScanNCut digital cutting machine.
I wanted to add a little fanciness to the card, so used the SU "Stitched Shapes" die along with my Spellbinders Glimmer machine to foil a 2-1/2" circle onto heavy white cardstock, then used a 2-3/4" plain circle die to cut it out. I mounted the birds onto the circle using foam tape for added dimension.
The two overlapping floral panels measure 1-1/2"x 4". Before mounting the bird circle onto the card front I added a 1/2" wide strip of SU "Petal Pink" cardstock across the entire card. The bird circle was mounted with foam tape.
Aside from cutting out the birds, this card came together really fast (and the birds hardly took any time at all - about 2 minutes on the ScanNCut). I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". I didn't put a sentiment on the card, but I'm saving it for a friendly hello, or birthday occassion.
