I saw a one sheet wonder project on Pinterest that was supposed to be âeasiest ever!!â And the cards looked easy enough, mostly half and half backgrounds with double sided paper or plain cardstock.
I have a bunch of birthday cards to make for the âcards for seniorsâ project Iâm doing, and got a sheet of cupcake pattern paper in a lot of old Basic Grey papers. It was two sided paper and I thought it would work well as a OSW with a large sentiment stamp. Badda bing badda boom.
Except I had a hard time finding the video that was supposed to show this, project on YouTube! I finally found the channel and started the video and followed along with the cutting instructions that seemed more complicated than the original photo suggested. Lots of different sizes, strips, squares etc. I cut all the pieces anyway.
Then the person in the video started putting the cards together and yup, I had watched the wrong video, and she was making cards I had no patience for, lots of fun folds and stamping.
So now I had a pile of pieces and didnât want to make the cards they were intended for. I would have to wing it and use the pieces to make my own easy designs. I did it! I had already stamped the sentiment multiple times and cut out the white card and layered it onto some pink cardstock so I knew those would be the focal points for all the cards. I grabbed a stack of white cards and started randomly picking out pieces of the OSW paper and figuring out how to use them in a card. I used a few scraps of another Basic Grey sheet, that I had used for the quilt card Iâm also uploading today, and used a few scraps of cardstock for layering when needed, and used some yellow ribbon and some Dollar Tree stickers to embellish some of the cards. Closer photos of the cards in groups of 3 follow, I made a total of nine. I had one small square left over in addition to throwaway strips trimmed from pieces to make them fit.
I hadnât really done a full 12x12 sheet OSW from beginning to end before and Iâm pretty happy with the results! TFL!
