 | | This was the card that first grabbed my eye in Jo Annâs gallery. Iâm always drawn to hexagon designs and I loved the scattered hearts in her card:
F4A309 - Valentine for the one I love by Jo Ann F. at Splitcoaststampers
I kept the same basic layout though moved the sentiment and did a smaller white panel because my hexagon folder isnât that large. I was hopeful that my heart punch was small enough to fit the hearts inside the hexagons but NOPE I had to cut a bunch of hearts with the tiniest die from the Sizzix nesting hearts set. Since I was going to be running a bunch of papers through my machine I cut several extra from a bunch of pink and red scraps, so I can make a few more cards like this as Valentineâs Day gets closer, but with this sentiment, this particular card will go to my partner as just an ILY card.
I attached a piece of the Colorbok painted-looking papers in red to a white card, and cut a smaller white panel which I embossed with the hexagon folder. I attached it to the card front. I stamped the frame and sentiment on a scrap of white cardstock and punched out with the modern label punch (have I mentioned lately how excited I am to FINALLY have that punch?) I layered the sentiment onto a scrap of the red paper and attached it with foam tape. Then the fun partâ¦picking out and arranging the little hearts into a design I liked, and glueing them all down! This was a fun card to make, thank you again Jo Ann for your wonderful and inspiring cards and congrats on your Featured status!
