For today's challenge we are to use masking tape or a masking technique. Back in the dark ages of stamping I learned a technique we called "Cracked Earth". Here on SCS the tutorial is called Faux leather with Masking tape ( Faux Leather With Masking Tape Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers )
I tore pieces of masking tape covering a piece of card stock, then sponged cappuccino and Vintage sepia over the entire piece. The residual adhesive on the tape really makes the color grab in the "cracks". Once done I covered the entire piece with Ultra thick EP. Stamped the chilis & sun and embossed the red parts with more UTEE. Fussy cut and adhered to the masking tape bg. Finished with some raffia and a computer generated sentiment.

Ah - that's a technique I really like the look of - and isn't it just perfect with your fun hot chillies. My sister once had a set of chilli Christmas lights, I loved them. The raffia is a super touch.
