I recently joined a Facebook group that makes cards to be distributed in nursing homes to residents who donât get mail or visits from family. The cards are sent to a central location where they are sent to nursing homes and staff and others write messages in them.
I had the idea of using premade blank cards from Dollar Tree as a way to quickly mass produce cards for this project, and I had bought a couple of 6 packs that had been on my desk waiting for inspiration to strike.
Last night I had been making some other cards using this fabulous painted-paper-look designer paper from Colorbok and I started playing with combinations that would work with these blank cards. I hit on some good ones and cut six rectangles of the hot pink out and used tape runner to attach to the printed cards, making sure to leave plenty of the original card visible. I used my recently acquired Spellbinders âhelloâ die (2 or 3 bucks in their clearance section, and a bargain at twice the priceâI will be getting a lot of use from it!) to cut the greeting from orange paper and glued to the card fronts, then finished with some flower stickers, also from Dollar Tree. I love how these turned out and will probably make some for my own use as well!
