I needed the WT873 Use it Up challenge this week as I've been sitting on this tree panel for over a year. I made it for another challenge from painting on doors or something like that. I wasn't thrilled with it but I hung on to it anyway. Today I decided that it would see the light of day and made this card. I looked at old sketches to see how to lay it out. I knew I wanted to use a square card so cut the panel down some and found this retired DSP that was a good BG match. I die cut the stars in brown but I think they were too dark, but too late as they were already glued down (LOL) so I added some gems to make some pop. I roughed the edges of the main panel and mat and then added some tri-colored twine that also was never quite right for projects. I added a sentiment and few stars to the main panel. TFL

Oh, I am glad you used this. I think the effect of the trees stamped on the woodgrain is just super, also the way the stars flow across both panels. I'm a big fan of square cards too, but at least they don't require extra postage here.

This is a beautiful card! I love the flow of stars across the top and those majestic trees. The wood panel effect is terrific! Lovely masculine vibe though I think it's great too!

I love the effect of the trees on the wood textured panel! Just a thought- as a very experienced "why did I do it that way?" person- you could always cut more stars from something you like better, and glue them on top of the ones already on the card. It would add height to the stars, and maybe you'd like it better?

See, there's a reason we hang onto those bits that just didn't work the first time. This is a wonderful card!
