What fun! For the generation of my children, this was one of the first interactive books that they enjoyed. I never tire of the images, the story, the art.
As always, for mixed media, I looked through my stash and found good stuff! The leaf diecut is from someone here on SCS, I think a tickle or birthday gift (I'm sorry I don't keep track of this), I sprayed it with some silvery stuff. The layer underneath that is on printer paper, a glorious glittered project in greens that my granddaughter Clare did and I begged her to give it to me. The caterpillar is made from tissue dyed with Brushos, I had done it a while ago, not even sure if I used it for something else. How perfect is that?! His/her face, eyes and feet are cut from little scraps of stash I had, a variety of media like alcohol inks and acrylic paint. I thought putting some butterfly postage stamps on would be fun, lo and behold, I had a Very Hungry Caterpillar stamp. 39 cents postage so a while ago, it's part of a set of stamps of children's classic literature.
Pol, this was sooooo much fun, I had a blast digging out cool stuff to use. Everything recycled except the base.

WOW this fabulous!! The stamps and the already dyed tissue paper was serendipitous today! They're perfect for this challenge. And how wonderful to have the base that your DGD made. Love this!

You must have had great fun combing through your stash to find all the bits for this (including the perfect coloured tissue paper). How cool that you even had the postage stamp, must have been a fun series. Your sentiment has made me think of the book "Hope for the Flowers", I must look it out.

Such a fun card and how cool to have a hungry caterpillar postage stamp. We still have some of this author’s books which I’ve saved for future generations. Happy day

What a collaborative effort! And an absolute treasure as well. Clare’s printer paper art was the perfect base. Love how every piece carries the story (AI feet, Brusho tissue segments, and a face only a mother could love)… Eric Carle has nothin’ on you, bfnm!
