This will go to Joyce who suffered a stroke and is now in rehab in need of warm fuzzies. Joyce loves among other things flowers and doing counted cross stitch, so I pulled out supplies from 40 years ago and stitched a small heart made of flowers. Since I wanted the card to look like a quilt, I found some old origami paper with a quilt patch look, glued it to more cardstock then cut a hexagonal aperture to frame my cross stitch heart. I will use the piece I cut out on the inside to frame a sentiment.

I wanted to make an embroidery but since my last attempt I still feel my shoulder too much, so I couldn't, I'm so glad you've made a cross stitching pattern on your card, fabulous!!

This is beautiful and very heart warming. I admire any stitching done on cards. It's time consuming, but sure makes a meaningful card. This cross stitch is perfect for the quilt theme. She will love this. TFS

Wow, this is gorgeous, Linda. I used to do cross stitch so I love, love your beautiful floral heart! The paper is perfect to go with it. I like how you framed the focal point in the hexagon shape to match the pattern in the paper. I imagine that Joyce will love, love your card!

What a beautiful cross-stitch piece, Linda. Your background colors look awesome with it. I have not cross-stitched in years. My eyes got so bad. I use to have a counted cross stitch shop an eternity ago. I spent my time cross stitching while my boys were at ball practice, etc. Back in the day. It seemed like a very portable art to me while on the go.
