Another of my mailing abroad Christmas cards. I needed this one ready for DH to sign before he goes on a trip.
I used the layered gesso background tutorial - Layered Gesso Background Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers - a favourite of mine, and with life having been so busy for the last year and half, not one I often make time for.
Gessoed the base. Stamped the stars, Off the Grid, Music Notes and Lighting the Way. Heat-dried, and added green and ochre paints over the bottom, blue and white over the top. Removed some of the excess with a baby-wipe, so that the stars and grid still showed.
Masked off where the sentiment was to go, and added the stencilled stars with a TCW stencil and modelling paste. When dry, I added Craft-T rub-ons over the stencilled stars and part of the foreground. Edged with copper EP, stamped and embossed the sentiment, and finally added a star cut from one of my tomato paste tubes to fill a blank space. I started out with a much larger star, and kept working down and down till I ended up with this one. Nice to find a way of using that Lighting the Way set from PB which I like but find difficult to use. I had to stamp twice to extend it across the base, but because of the foreground it really doesn't matter too much, and I made sure not to stamp Bethlehem twice ;-).
