This is for the Falliday Fest 2021 Tutorial #5: die cut spotlight. I kind of painted myself into a corner by choosing the background stamp I did, but I think it still turned out okay.
Stamp hollyhocks on front of cream card base. Die cut a portion using a stitched oval die. Since the die cut portion couldn't really be "colored in" (DUH!!!!! Ugh...), I decided to paint it using acrylic paints. I used metallic copper, tan, and green shades of paint. I also added dots/splatter from the tan paint.
After the paint dried I centered the oval in the opening and adhered it inside the card as per the tutorial. Since I suddenly needed yet another sympathy card, I stamped the sympathy sentiment on a white scrap, cut it out, and popped it up on dimensional foam tape. (I had to adhere it at the top of the oval because the painters tape I had used to secure the die before running it through my Cuttlebug tore a little of the card front... sheesh!). This was a neat technique -- TFL!

Well, all the uh ohs that you described happen to all of us. Good job working it out and creating this beauty. I love that red coppery color of acrylic paint you used. It's so gorgeous!
