This card was made for a sketch challenge with the optional theme of "let it shine".
I knew right away I wanted to use shiny gold accents for my card, but didn't have any tag punches or dies with "stitching" stamps to match. So I turned to my Brother ScanNCut digital cutting machine, along with a digital cutting file for tags with stitching. I sized it to fit the sketch, then used the quill embossing attachment on my machine to first create the gold stitching, then cut the tag out.
Once I had my gold "stitched" tag, I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Holly Jolly Wishes" set using Versamark ink and heat set gold powder.
The card base is bright red cardstock, and the main panel is muted dark green. For the three vertical elements I fussy cut three strips from a sheet of laser cut gold specialty paper. Because there were so many intricate cuts, I chose to use a spray adhesive on the back of the three strips to minimize glue oozing out and onto the top of the gold surface.
After gluing down the gold strips, I used my machine to cut two more white tags and glued these to the back of the embossed tag to give it height for added dimension. I used a gold-edged red ribbon to tie to the tag, then glued the tag to the front over the gold strips.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" because I had to create my own tag from scratch.
