I have had this stamp set for quite some time, & had not inked it up before this. I needed a birthday card for a special friend, so I decided now was The Time to break out this set.
I stamped the bird/flower image, as well as the larger butterfly, on vellum bristol paper with Tuxedo Black ink. I used my colored pencils to color them. After I finished coloring, I cut them out with the coordinating dies. I went over the bird's eye with a black glaze pen, & added the highlight back in with a white gel pen.
I thought it would be neat to have the main image sticking out of a pocket. I also had not used the "Stacking Pockets" dies yet, so I pulled those out of my "unused products" basket. I die cut a pocket that fit the image size from patterned paper. I added glue to the bottom of my bird image, & adhered the top of the pocket over that. I then added the butterfly to the pocket. I also stamped the "with love" greeting & cut it out with the coordinating die. I stamped the rest of the greeting on the same scrap of yellow cardstock, & cut it into a label. Finally, I glued those to the pocket.
Because of the size of the image and the pocket, I had to make a larger card. I determined that a 5x7" card would accommodate everything with a little "breathing room" around the focal point. I cut, scored, & folded my white card base; & then added a panel of pink cardstock to the front. Finally, I adhered my focal image/pocket.
