For today's sketch, card #2. Also for the WCW challenge today-poppies! I'm painting merrily away, not remembering that the two smaller poppies don't need the yellow and the little brown lines. Gahhhhhh. I need to work on being more present and in the moment. For once, I like the leaves pretty well. The flowers....well I struggle with painting flowers. I think I feel like I can't come close to doing them justice and prefer the real ones. I do like the more pinkie poppies best.

First it really is eye catching with the sketch and done with the slimline design. A real show stopper. Your painting looks very translucent and attractive. I like your leaves too. Thanks for sharing the card in the gallery.
I caught myself rewinding the video to make sure I didn't have to do anything else with the side flowers so I totally get that you added the yellow. It looks great to me! Your leaves turned out beautifully too! I struggle with flowers too. I love the practice but they never turn out how I think they should! So fun that you were able to play along with both challenges today!

the reality is, the petals of all the flowers probably have a color flow on them. so the yellow looks totally real and normal to me Jean. I had a hard time with the shapes of these flowers, because, they do not look like Oriental poppies that I grow in my garden. I love how you framed this off set here a lot.
