Loved this challenge! I saved so many pictures for future reference but I saw the hexagon print and loved the colors, plus I had just received a shiny new toy to play with: a hexagon embossing folder and matching die from Marianne Design. So I decided to to a paper pieced tile landscape with the same colors.
I embossed a piece of gold metallic cadstock and cut it to just a few rows so I wouldn't lose my mind tiling! Dug into some very old cardstock to find matching colors and used the die that came with the folder to cut them.. then tiled the embossed piece in a similar color scheme as the original piece. I covered a white card with dark grey cardstock and layered on the snowy sky patterned paper (also from a newly arrived Christmas card making purchase, an Echo Park paper pad). Then I die cut two trees and two stars from the gold metallic cardstock âe" the inside bits didn't cut all the way through but I didn't mind because I wanted the embossed look anyway. I glued them in place and then added the tiled piece. Stamped sentiment inside the card. I love the color palette and want to make more cards using similar colors, tho maybe not as complicated as this one!
