Our challenge this week is to feature something we collect. I love to bring home shells from walks on the beach, especially from favorite places, such as Martha's Vineyard. To make this card, I tore a piece of Crumb Cake for the sand and mounted it with sky DSP on a double matte of white and lavender. The stamp of the woman has her dangling her legs off a boat. I colored her with watercolor pencils and fussy cut, leaving out the boat so I could tuck her up on the dunes. I sprinkled real Martha's Vineyard sand over some Nuvo glue and added a couple of tiny shells (from a craft store - I can't part with any of my found treasures!) The card base is So Saffron, which I thought picked up the yellow in her straw hat. Making this card really made me happy...I may have to make another for myself! TFL

What a great card and collection! The Martha's Vineyard sand is perfect for this. And that stamp...very clever of you to picture her on the sand collecting shells instead of being on the boat.

Such a lovely card with that fabulous sky dp and the sand, Faith! I recognised this stamp immediately as it is from one of my favourite old SU sets, Summer By The Sea. I like how you used the stamp on this card. Collecting seashells is a wonderful thing to do, too!

Oh!! Simply beautiful. I would love to get this, but I think I would probably put my name back in the hat for fear the shells would break. I absolutely love this, and I can see why you would want to make one to keep.
I see Sue has already given you the set name . I knew it was either that or another very similar set from the same period.

This is a beautiful card capturing the feel of the beach perfectly. I can see why you would like to keep it. Someone Teapotter will be thrilled to receive it. Also, lovely job staging the photo -- your shell collection looks fabulous.

I love your real sand sand dunes and you have done a stellar job getting that woman out of the boat and planting her toes in the warm sand. A truly wonderful rendition of your collection.

This card is so beautiful. I love how you did the sand, and your cloudy sky is perfectly done. Very clever of you to transport her from the boat to the shore - well done! I can see why you want to duplicate this card; it’s evident your heart is in it.

Brings back beach memories. Yes - I guess you could say I have a seashell collection too. Each one has its memories. This card makes me long to go to the beach - perhaps in a couple of weeks now that restrictions have eased.

Oh my goodness I had no idea you collected shells. This is a wonderful image. I always love seeing it on cards. She is perfect to use for your shell inspiration and collection.
