This card was made for a sketch challenge that also had an optional "keep it off center" theme challenge.
I thought the tri-shutter fancy fold would be a good technique to use since it definitely is "off center", especially when you open it up! I used the Splitcoaststampers tri-shutter tutorial for measurements and folds. The only change I made was that I DID NOT fold the center sections along the vertical folds at the 2" and 8" marks along the long side of the card. I wanted the front and back sections of the card to be stiff. That means I did the cutting on the trimmer first, then did the scoring so that the score lines at 2" and 8" did NOT pass across the "t" panel, only on across the top and bottom of the long cuts. This will become more clear after you watch the video and see how Bonnie demonstrates scoring the entire height of the card, rather than stopping at the cuts as I did. The link to her tutorial is: Tri-Shutter Card Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
The card base is a Recollections red glitter cardstock that is 5-1/2 x 12" in size.
I used red velvet paper upon which I stamped the poinsettia images using Versamark ink. I then covered the stamped image with gold embossing powder and heat set. The excess embossing powder was super easy to tap off before heating. I was worried, but it didn't stick where I didn't want it to emboss.
The green pattern paper is from the retire 2014 Stampin' Up! (SU) "Santa & Co." designer series paper (DSP). The beautiful gold embossed gray paper is from the retired "Joyous Noel" DSP pack.
This card is fun to do, and once you've made one, you'll want to make more. A great way to use up pattern paper scraps!
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "3" out of a possible "5", with the hardest part I added by not scoring the two end "t" sections across the middle section between the two 2" and 8" cuts made on the paper trimmer. And that wasn't really hard, you just have to cut first, then do your scoring.
