This is my sample for CC867. Karen is our hostess and she chose mint macaron, petal pink and pool party for her color trio. Dessert option this week is metallic.
I thought these colors were perfect for a Christmas card. I even had the designer paper with the challenge colors. I don't have petal pink cardstock so I subbed blushing bride.
I went with a fun fold for my card - it's called the split panel fold. The panels are joined together with an acetate window sheet. I didn't see a tutorial on SCS for this fold. But I did make a card using this fold before. You can find the tutorial on this Blog post. If you like watching videos I found one on YouTube from Wow NOLA Creations. There are link issues so I couldn't link to her YouTube site.
Used the Stampin'-Up set poinsettia petals and coordinating dies for my card. For the scalloped edge I used an old Stampin'-Up punch.
Cut the poinsettia in blushing bride and the leaves are mint macaron. I sponged them to get a deeper shade. For the poinsettia center I used some beaded pearls from Stampin'-Up.
I cut another leaf and stamped my Christmas sentiment to complete my card. To get the pool party color in there I scattered a few enamel dots. They were white and I colored them with a pool party Stampin' blend.
That's my sample for this week. Hope you can play along with us. Karen has chosen some great colors for your card making.

Fabulous! Love the card technique, so pretty. The poinsettia is amazing and beautifully complimented with the gold and DSP. Love the pearls. Very nice done!

Your poinsettia is stunning and looks fabulous against that great dp. Love the bits of gold foliage and the jeweled flower center. I love cards with the acetate windows although I've only made one. I bought a bunch of sheets awhile back and now I'm eager to pull them out. I Fav'd this so I can come back and CASE this one. Fabulous card.

There's so much to love on this card, Mary! First of all, the fun fold. That split panel technique is intriguing! Then the beautiful poinsettia, just Wow! And the could-not-be-more-perfect DS paper! Fantastic card!
