Hubby needed a thank you for an employees10 year anniversary with the company. I personally know this gal who has been such an asset and wanted something extra special. I play it safe normally and techniques challenge me but I saw a beautiful recessed card on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try. I read a couple of explanations, but Beate John's video at the bottom of this technique spotlight solidified everything for me and I spent yesterday tackling it, and am so pleased with the outcome. There I s an extra score at the top to give the card some depth to accommodate the recessed portion. I have uploaded another photo to show that.
My frame, grunge overlay inside the recessed portion, and butterfly were all cut from cream cardstock. The frame and grunge die were sponged and stamped while the butterfly was coloured with copics and fussy cut.

count me another fav! This is a stunning card and I am betting well appreciated. Love the Basic Grey~ish DP. The script carried across the patterns is ever so cool. That fragment die cut is my very favorite. It is easy to see how much joy this card brought to you as well, Michele.
