Super sketch today, Pat!!! Actually the ones recently have been just great to work with so thanks to the team. I used a failed water stamping background from this past Monday's TLC for the colored pieces. Waste not, want not.
This is also for today's WCW-fast Fall tree. I listened to the video three times, once without sub titles. I love his voice! So smiley! Japanese is an interesting language. Not very melodious but they have a way of making it melodious. Did you know that the word 'no' is very rarely said in Japan? They are uncomfortable with saying it, they'd rather say 'it's difficult to answer.' The word for 'yes' is 'hai'. I heard him say it several times. I chose 'komorebi' for the title as I love when they have one word that means a whole lot. My favorite word is 'tsundoku', which means having too many unread books. I don't believe that's possible.
I tried to make sort of a bonsai tree; my favorite bonsai are the ones where the leaves turn color and fall. So beautiful!

Beautiful "failed" panel, Jean and at first I thought this was a sort of eerie looking tree, but then read your description of it resembling a bonsai tree, and now I understand. Lovely colors on your leaves. I live by "waste not, want not".

Your watercolored bonsai tree is lovely, Jean! I'm not sure your failed background is actually a fail since it looks wonderful here! Love how you combined the two challenges!

Well done with the watercolor and the sketch! Love that word! I didn't even think to put subtitles on. I had no idea what he was saying, but I enjoyed listening to him.
