This week, Teapotters are sending paper hugs to DebbieinOC's friend of a friend, Carol. She is a hairstylist who has just begun her radiation treatment. Lisa/Shoe Girl challenged us to use a pair of scissors in our cards and extra points for using the color pink!
I got this foil-stamped origami paper from Daiso, and fussy cut these flowers. The main panel was sponged with Ladybug ink then spattered with white acrylic paint. I thought it needed a little bit more pizzazz, so I tried gilding the edges: put a 1/8" double sided tape on the edges, then used a soft brush to make the gold flakes stick.
I went on a quote hunt for the word "Hope", and there are so many beautiful quotes for hope, but I kept coming back to this because it spoke to me...I hope that it speaks to Carol, too.
Thank you for the opportunity to cheer someone up, Debbie, thanks for the challenge, Lisa, and thanks everyone for looking!

Absolutely breathtaking! I hadn't heard that acronym before, and it is perfect for someone who has to endure the temporary pain of chemo/radiation. Well done!!

This is so gorgeous, Gem. I had not heard of that acronym before either, so thanks for sharing that. Carol will swoon when she sees this beauty in pink tones.

Exquisite and, as always, you have found the perfect sentiment. I love this message and it definitely speaks to me; I'm sure it will to Carol as well. Your blooms and the gold edging are so beautiful and elegant. I think Carol will love this -- both for it's beauty and it's message. Gorgeous card.

You did a super job on your fussy cut foil edged flowers. And those gilding flakes make this look SO RICH. Love the acronym you found - it speaks to the truth of cancer treatments - chemo can be brutal - you just have to keep faith and hold on.

Wow, gorgeous paper and I can't imagine that it was totally easy to get the Silhouette to write on it. I know what a lovely soft effect gilding flakes give - perfect way to edge such special paper.

This is so beautifully colored and love that thin gold outlining. The sentiment is so powerful for 4 simple words.
