One of our friends' dogs recently passed away. I made them this sympathy card, just to let them know we were thinking of them.
I die cut a heart from white cardstock that would fit both the card & the punched paw print. I also cut strips of rainbow colors to fill the heart, to represent the Rainbow Bridge. I die cut them with one of the "Snowdrifts" dies, making sure the edges of adjoining strips lined up to make a seamless join. I glued the strips to the white heart, & trimmed off the overhanging ends with scissors. I punched the paw print from grey cardstock, & used the negative to help me glue the pieces down onto the heart properly.
I stenciled a cloudy background (to represent Heaven) onto a panel of white cardstock, then trimmed that to 4x5-1/4". I adhered my heart and stamped the greeting. I curved the end of the greeting around the side of the heart, just to make it flow. Finally, I adhered the panel to a 1/16" black mat, & mounted that to a white card base.
