I'm happy to be hosting today's TLC-an SCS tutorial called acrylic smash. It's fast and fun, just a little drying time.
Instead of a diecut like the tutorial, I used a large background stamp I hadn't used yet. Lots of hydrangea! I stamped that large acetate with Stazon and the circle acetate with Versamark and gold ep. Be careful heat embossing on acetate...a hot gun continually moving usually works. The acrylic paint between the acetate and the paper behind acts as an adhesive as it dries...pretty cool, huh?! I used two colors of paint behind the large panel, just one behind the circle. I love large statement backgrounds so all I needed was a sentiment and some Liquid Pearls. I love the SU smoky slate color for a base; I feel like it goes with a lot. I hope you give this oldie but goodie a try.

Beautiful hydrangea bg you've captured the shining so well in your picture, I love the circle too, just a tip not all acetate can be heat embossed, you need a good quality for that

The hydrangea bg is gorgeous!! I like the way you did the circle in gold and put the wonderful sentiment of focus on the positive - something we all need to do more of.

Oh, my! I didn't even look at the cards before I made mine. Looks like I copied your idea. Great minds must think alike! The floral backgrounds really are great with this technique!

Ah, I didn't bother embossing once I found my StazOn reinker, but for a while I thought I would - and knew I had special heat-resistant acetate. I bet that adds fab texture to the smoothness of the acetate layer. Perfect colours behind the large hydrangea layer, but the white and gold one is just so classy and elegant looking.

What a gorgeous background! I love how you did this. Every time I see any hydrangea stamping, it brings back wonderful memories of my mom…so I thank you!
