Made this slimline Halloween card for my 13-yo nephew using some new crafty toys I bought recently.
I cut my black panel and figured out where I wanted to position the ghost and the skeleton. This allowed me to get the position of the sentiment figured out. Stamped the sentiment multiple times using Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves DOXs.
I used the SSS Fading Stars stencil and some (believe it or not) Twisted Citron DOX ink to fill in my panel around the sentiment.
I stamped my skeleton twice, once with Hero Arts white pigment ink on black card stock and once with Memento on a white card stock. I cut the white one close and the black one with more of an edge. I tried them both and there was no question I liked the white embossed on black one the best. I stamped and fussy cut the skeleton on 80# Neenah and highlighted with some Cool Gray Copics.
After assembling the card, I realized I had gotten some unwanted ink on the ghost, so stamped and fussy cut a 2nd one to hide my mishap. It turned out to be for the best as the black card stock I used for the skeleton was heavier (plus the embossing adds visual weight), so having a double layer ghost worked out for the best.
Slimline card and Tim Holtz - not my normal M.O., but in the end, I was happy with how this came out and think it will work well for a teenage boy.
TFL!

Very cute card for Halloween. Your nephew is going to love it. That skeleton is great. I also like the stars in the background and purple is one of my favorite colors. Thanks for sharing!
