I stamped the wheel two times on my grid paper before stamping the image on the paper (which I think is supposed to look like leather?) so that it would be a fainter shade of blue, then stamped the sentiment over it. I notched the corners, sponged blue around the edges, mounted it on gold cardstock and added brads. I played around with different arrangements of the BG papers, but decided the red needed to be just an accent rather than equal to the blue. I made a faux nautical knot in the twine. I also ran the white through a woodgrain EF, but it's mostly hidden.

Very pretty -- a great nautical card!!! I like the vintage feel of it!

It does have a leathery look to it. Your nautical papers and knot go so well with the saying....a good one by the way. Sometimes we all need to be more flexible.
Agreeing with Polly - the 'leather' paper you used is the star of the show in your card! I like how the wheel is faded and the quote really stands out. I have this exact quote framed in our family room, it is just the quote though, so after seeing your card, you gave me the idea of jazzing it up! Love the twine and the brads, too - awesome composition!
