Watercolor Wednesday this week featured a video watercoloring a scene of a coffee cup on a coffee-ring stained table, as seen from above. I'm not good at sketching, but this was pretty easy -- I just traced around a jar to get a circle for the inside of the coffee mug and sort of vaguely sketched the outer ring and mug handle. The rest was the magic of painting. (For the coffee rings, I put a little paint on the bottom of a small jar and stamped.)

Wonderful sketching and painting of your rich yummy coffee. Great shadowing with the gray. Sure glad you came by and played in the challenge. Enjoyed seeing your creation. Fav'd

You did a marvelous job you your painting, Sandy! The color takes me WAY back to when my kids were little and I'd make a pot of strong coffee in the morning. Then instead of adding cream to my cup, I'd put in a spoon or 2 of instant chocolate milk. YUM! I always had my coffee in a mug and those were the colors I'd see gazing into it's steamy depths. Thanks for the memories and the wonderful addition to the gallery.

This looks great. Leaving out the saucer is a good idea. It is hard to keep circles looking like circles when you watercolor or do any other painting. I love the two little heart sequins..

I love how the colors mingle in the cup! A great card!
