This week Stacy is our hostess, and she is featuring Debbie Hughes aka Limedoodle. What kind of watercolors do you use? Pan, tube, pencils, crayons. I bought tubes and filled pans with various colors. I also bought pans already poured. When using tubes you can waste some paint, and Debbie shows us how to avoid doing just that. We are painting a rich dark cup of coffee this week. Actually just using two colors plus the white. I sketched the cup and saucer, and painted following the video. To make the coffee rings used the bottom of my nova bottle and dipped it into the paint. Sponged around the first layer and popped it up with foam tape. Made a background paper with splattering and more coffee rings. Put the layers onto the brown card base. TFL Come join us for a nice hot rich cup of java.

Your card looks so fun with all the splatters and coffee rings in the bg and then that big beautiful cup of java sitting right in the middle of it all! Way to go, Linda! I can almost smell the rich aroma~

Beautiful! The rich colors of this watercolor painting look hot and ready for the first cup of the day. Love that you sketched the design and the distressed and framing are fabulous.

I like your side view of this coffee cup - I had actually considered doing something similar but in the end went for the top view as it's a unique perspective. Really great shadowing on both the cup and saucer and I do love the swirl of cream I see in your coffee.
