It's my pleasure to host the Featured Stamper Challenge (FS763) this week, so a big congrats to Natalie! She has a wonderful gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I love the original so I kept it really similar. I used different images & dies, made my plaid w/ a stencil & left off the bling.
For the lg bg, I used a 2 part plaid stencil & Distress soot to make the plaid. The deer was die cut out of red & several more times in white. On the red, I stamped it w/ a vertical stripe bg the rotated 90 degrees & stamped again to get the gingham look. A white half scallop layer was added under the red greeting panel & some die cut snowflakes were added to the plaid bg. Since I didn't have an outline die for the deer, I used the 3 white versions & offset them to get the white outline.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ more pics & links: The Write Stuff

Julie, this is a wonderful case of Natalie's card. I sat and looked at the deer for a while to try and figure out how you got the white background all the way around. What a clever girl you are to have pieced additional 3 sections of the deer to complete it. I adore this with the all black, red and white. Those snowflakes and white decorative layer really pop.

I love your case of Natalie's card (we chose the same one!), and the plaid is wonderful. Because there's so much RED, it warms my heart as no other color can. Big surprise there, right? So clever to make a gingham!!!

So fun. Love the plaid deer. Such a great card that you picked and that you made. I want to case them both. Fab case, Julie. Hugz

Another fabulous CASE that you totally make your own. Love that big bold plaid bg. Brilliant to offset the white on the deer different ways to get the outline -- I thought you trimmed the deer down, which is what I would have attempted to do and been annoyed because I never get the shapes exactly the same. I will definitely need to remember this trick. Also love the size of the snowflakes, Perfect dimensions with that plaid. Awesome card.
I really like this striking card, Julie! The plaid deer is fun and I like the stenciled gingham! The open scallops and added snowflakes really pop, with the red and black!
