This card was made for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #438 (http://atlanticheartschallenge.blogs...etch-438.html). I mirrored the sketch so that the banner was off the right edge of the card so make it work with the hand-colored hibiscus flower.
I used Jennifer McGuire's "Glow Stamping" technique (https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2...asic-inks.html) to create the background. The technique is basically to stamp your image in white on a dark background (I used SU Cajun Craze), then to over-stamp it with the color you want the final image to be. The trick is to use a white PIGMENT ink for the base, since this ink doesn't absorb into the paper/cardstock like dye inks do. She recommends using distress oxide inks for the most brilliant colors, but I only had Stampin' Up! (SU) dye inks.
The hibiscus was stamped with black Memento ink, then colored with Copic markers. The banners were punched with the scalloped !" and 3/4" SU "Pick-A-Punch" paper punch. I then scanned it with my Brother ScanNCut with a 0.04" margin around the image. It was attached to the card front using liquid glue and foam tape.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" since it requires a stamp positioner to do the "glow stamping" technique.
