Color Challenge hosted by Karen: Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Pool Party with DSP for the dessert option.
Bible Verse Challenge hosted by Julie: use a Bible verse on your project and memorize it if you can. I used a favorite stamp with a verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:18. The stamp actually helped me to memorize the whole verse.
This cute Harvest Mouse was perfect for the colors using Sahara Sand as a neutral for the mouse and a little wash on the ground. I stenciled some grass to line the mouse's path and sponged some Pool Party in the sky using a cloud template.
After I stamped, colored and started to do the sky, I noticed a faint circle on the watercolor paper as if it was dry embossed. Not sure how it got there; I was too far along to use a different piece. I decided to use it for my advantage and stamp the verse that I had already chosen inside the circle. It certainly worked for good. I am thankful that I did not have to start over.
The DSP is long retired and the color is Really Rust. It went so nicely with the Cajun Craze so I used it as a substitution. Added a variegated scrap of fiber and a wood heart embellishment.
Great colors to work with. Thanks for looking!

I love the challenge of using a bible verse and having to memorize it! This heartwarming design is adorable. The mouse appears to be memorizing the verse as well. This is an excellent and fun exercise to learn God's word. TFS

Adorable and sweet scene that depicts your lovely verse so well. Love that little bird communing with his mousy friend. Beautiful coloring. Love that your "circle" -- which looks intentional -- was one of those happy crafting things that happen (I always credit the craft elves with those). Wonderful card.
