I have know idea what this bear is looking for but I really don't care as long as it's not for me! Right?
Karen is this week's Color Challenge hostess for CC861! She has selected some beautiful fall colors, Pool Party, Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow with the dessert option 'Designer Paper'!
I hunted through my stash of current dsp and couldn't find any that would be appropriate for this week's challenge so I decided to create my own. The two patterns here are from the paper pack Pattern Party, this package has numerous black and white designs, with this in mind, I choice to colore the stripes and the leaves on both papers using Pool Party and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends. However, I ran into a problem when I didn't have the Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends so I improvised by combining two colors of Copics to try and match the Cajun Craze. It doesn't look the greatest in the photo but it blends a little better IRL.
I dry embossed the square negative of one of the leaves in Basic Black cardstock to add some interest to the focal point.
The Pool Party sentiment panel was stamped in black ink and framed in Basic White.
I hope you join the design team this week in sharing your take on Karen's wonderful color choices! Thank you for taking a look!

I like your creative idea of coloring the designer paper and I think your Copic match looks great- this is such a pretty card to let someone know you are thinking of them

You have the perfect DSPs for the challenge this week. Great layout - luv it! The bear is looking for dinner - most likely a full time job when you are that big.

LeAnn, there is so much to love about this card! The stripes are perfect, and I love the cutout leaf on the brown panel. It really shows off the stripes! Love the little colored leaves, too! That bear is looking for honey, I think! :-)

Beautifully done! Aren't you clever to color your DSP to match the challenge colors. You did great job matching the Cajun Craze. Love the layout with the die-cut leaves and the negative cut, too. Great card. Thanks for the inspiration!
