I wanted to see if I could get close to the look and feel of that paper using alcohol inks and I think I got pretty close. I just kept dropping smalls amounts of the various colors and then drying. This is pretty much a direct CASE as I wanted to duplicate her card. For my oak leaves, I used AI on two scraps of glossy cardstock -- one with greens and one with purples. I stamped the leaves, heat embossed with clear ef and fussy cut. My panels must be a bit bigger than Shirl's so I moved the sentiment to a small strip. I used two shades of DOX to better match the base card color. Since I forgot to emboss some stitching around the edge of the card base BEFORE I started glueing down the panels, I scored some simple lines instead. I'm pretty jazzed I got so close to Shirl's beauty.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope your stamping adventures leave you feeling "jazzed" too. Happy day.

Oh my goodness, this is gorgeous! Totally love the alcohol background you created - thank you for listing the colors and mentioning that you dried between colors. This is an amazing CASE of Shirls card - true to her card, but distinctly your own. Nicely done!
