I have the pleasure of being hostess this week and I wanted to start September off with some fall colors. I got my colors from this paper pad -it's one of my favorites. (One of those where you hate to use the paper because you love it so much you want to hoard it,but you also want to use it because you love it SO much. The card makers dilemma!)
I actually had another card in mind when I started making this one. I was going to color in the sunflowers using markers and stencil a sky with the plaid paper just peeking out. You can see how that idea changed!
I really liked the layering dies that came with the class set so I used just the dies instead. I used the coordinating ink on the dies cuts to give them some shading and dimension. I was also going to add a neutral green - Mossy Meadow - but decided this really didn't need it. I liked the stalks in the blue. Also in the blue and a bit hard to see, I added one enamel dot to the corner.
I hope you will join us this week. We love seeing all your cards!

First off, you chose some great colors. Then you choose a plaid background with some bold sunflowers- all so awesome. I have to laugh as you talk about how the design evolves as you work on it. Isn't that always the way? You need to check out Kylie Bertucci as she has a song about her love of designer paper- Love it, Chop it! It is a program for we paper hoarders......

Beautiful colors this week, Jeanne. I was going to do sunflowers but changed my mind. I like the added shading to give them depth. Very pretty autumn card with the lovely plaid dp and curvy bottom edge~

These colors are such a lovely way to start off the month, Jeanne! These sunflowers are SO happy looking and just perfect for that special "hoard-worthy" plaid. - I have that problem too - especially with diagonal plaids. The curved border is perfect too!

Jeanne, thank you for the beautiful colors this week. I had a lot of fun creating my card. I can understand about hoarding paper. (I could open my own shop!) I love this pretty plaid paper and the curvy edge, the pretty bow and the great sunflowers!
