For this challenge to commemorate the tragic loss of Princess Diana, the first thing that came to mind was the version of Candle in the Wind sung by Elton John at her funeral. I downloaded a digital image of a candle with the flame blown to the side, and printed it to color, thanks to my BFF whose printer can handle cardstock unlike mine. I colored the holder and flame with pencils and added some Wink of Stella on both. I love yellow & grey together and thought the yellow polka dot BG and ribbon would keep the card from being too somber. The grey matte was embossed with a lacy EF.

Ooh, love the grey lace and pearls, very pretty. And the candle is perfect, too. Lucky you to have at least access to a printer that will take card - mine doesn't other and I get a bit cross because DH replaced or old one with this one so he could print on CDs- but two years later he hasn't yet printed one CD and I'm stuck with a crummy printer which is no good for photos, doesn't take card and doesn't even print true black.

I'm glad someone went with this theme....having Elton John sing that song with the lyrics specifically for Princess Diana was so memorable and touching. The yellow and gray combo is lovely and the pearls are a nice touch as she wore pearls often.

Certainly a strong memory of Princess Diana with this lovely song, Faith, I love the candle blowing, the embossed bg and pearls. I, too. Love a yellow/grey colour combination! A fabulous card for a lucky fellow tea potter!

I do like how you were inspired by Elton John's Candle in the Wind! Love the soft gray and yellow combo, and what strikes me most are the pearls - fabulous card!

Ohh, very pretty! I love the yellow and grey colors together, and all the polka dots, and pearl accents, so cheerful! Beautiful lacy frame and embossing folder as well. This is a lovely tribute card to Diana!
