This is my card for CC858. Chris is our hostess and she chose poppy parade, bumblebee and soft succulent for her color trio. Dessert option this week is dry embossing.
For my card, as you can see, I went with a Christmas theme. I used the Stampin'-Up poinsettia dies to die cut and then emboss my petals. The leaves are cut in soft succulent and then I used the same color ink and sponged the edges for a deeper color shade.
The sentiment is from the Stampin'-Up Christmas toile set. My background paper is from the "Painted Christmas" collection.
I added some gold cord behind the poinsettia for interest and a couple of berry sprigs. That's my sample for this week.
Hope you can play along with us. Chris has chosen some great colors for your adventures in card making.

What a pretty and festive card, Mary! I love the big, bright poinsettia, and the gold cord. The DS paper with the subtle script writing in the background is perfection!

Mary, your card just pops off the screen. Love it. You put a lot of thought and work into this card and it shows. Also, I like the berry sprigs and gold cord. Every aspect of this card just coordinates so nicely together.
Thank you for commenting on my card. BTW, we dodged a bullet with Hurricane Henri. We got lots of rain for two days ,torrential at times. The winds were moderate but not as severe as we thought they would be. We did not lose power and no trees came down in our neighborhood. We were very lucky this time. Thanks for caring.
