Todays Clean & Simple Challenge (CAS650- Summer Gingham - 8/9/2021), was to create a summer card using gingham.
I pulled this colored and die cut flower from my to-be-used pile. Itâs the new SU Hand Penned Petals set and I intended to pair this flower with matching DSP. This challenge inspired me to go a different direction and make my own patterned background using a gingham 6x6 stamp from Impression Obsession. The green gingham panel on this card is a 3rd generation stamping of SU Soft Seafoam ink. Needless to say, it took lots of stamping and several pieces of sacrificed cardstock to figure out how to tone down the color on the gingham background!
I added an intricate rectangle diecut (SU Flowering Vines) to the gingham panel, popped up the flower diecut and added 2 clusters of knotted Polka dot tulle ribbon for a soft, wispy bow. In fact, the bow is so wispy, it hardly shows in the photo!!! Take my word for it, it is hiding in plain sight!! Haâ¦
I appreciate you taking the time to look at my Hand Penned Petals Gingham creation.
May the remaining days of summer be good one for you!

Love that stamped gingham background. It has a vintage look about it. Love the ribbon and so fun to see the Vine set used. I bought it too! Love the sentiment on the tiny nested stitched die. Faved!

I did have to look again for the bow, but I do see it! I love this set and the DP that goes with it, but I really love how you've used it here. Maybe I don't need the DP after all.
