Believe it or not, my starting point was this lovely card by Jan: Snowman Fun by jan31 at Splitcoaststampers. I love snowmen and her card is fabulous. I kept the snowman - and kept the snowman at an unusual angle but then I diverged from her card.
After watching all the videos Jayne provided on the MMJ challenge thread and decided to go for it. This is so far out of my comfort zone, I'm not sure it is even on the same planet! I don't have magazines around the house to cut up and create wonky people - though that looks like fun! This was more inspired by the last video in the line up.
I gessoed my background panel to prepare it for liquid watercolor sprayed on it. I intended this to be a cross pattern by the blue spray was huge! While that was drying, I went through my stash of unused items. I found a bit of a yellow panel (gelli print?) and cut my spiral "sun." I had these clouds leftover from a bridge card I made a few weeks ago and added them. You can't really see the alcohol ink panel in the background - torn edges are showing with just a bit peeking out. That's OK, it is there for texture. I wanted a vertical element and, after much trying of various things, decided to go with a strip of black glitter paper for some sparkle.
In front of the torn alcohol ink panel, is a bit of a coffee filter that was the background to another inking experiment. I cut a bit off and scrunched it up. Then I added this fancy die cut corner that was just sitting there. On top of it all, I added my sponged snowman and popped him up. We are looking at his backside and he is looking up at the sun wondering how long till his melting point? That is why you can only see his carrot nose. My silly family decided he is a snowman/unicorn combination creature!
Jan, thank you for the inspiration, your card is so pretty.
Thanks for the challenges and thanks for looking!

Your snowman totally looks like a snowman gazing at the sun. No uni-snowman here. LOL. I love all the fun elements you added to the card and the colors are wonderful. You should try collage more often. Great job. Wonderful card.
