This week's Featured Stamper, Jan31, has a Gallery filled to the brim with variety -- beautiful cards, special folds and fun scrapbook layouts. I must be in a "green" phase though, because even with all that variety I was immediately drawn to this card and wanted to see if I could create the feel of this wonderful die: Happy Birthday by jan31 at Splitcoaststampers
For my bg, I gelli pressed the two lightest green DOX inks. I then inked the inside of my ef with the darkest green DOX and embossed. You get a much different look depending on which side you ink. Here's what both sides look like for this EF. I prefer the darker bg...now, if I can just remember in the future which side of the ef I need to ink...LOL. I finished the card off with a simple birthday sentiment just like Jan.
Jan, congratulations on being selected this week's FS. Your Gallery is delightful and I had many choices to choose from -- but I guess this week I'm just all about green. I hope you enjoy the week and all the cards you have inspired. And, I hope you all are feeling whatever color makes you happy this week...is it green, too? TFL

Ah - you might remember because you have given good details here! I often find that . Funny, because I prefer the lighter one with more detailing in the leaves, but they are both beautiful.

Beautiful cards and I love that technique the colours you’ve used blend together beautifully, I agree with Sabrina , I like the detailing on the leaves too. thanks for taking time to view my gallery and make your beautiful cards
You created 2 wonderful cards! I love working with embossing folders and getting 2 very different looks! I prefer the detailed leaves, myself, but they're both beautiful!

I love green and these both look so good, Debbie. I guess if I had to choose I would go with the darker one, but really they are both so pretty. I am glad I am not the only one who forgets what I did to achieve a result, lol. Love the big bold sentiment!
