This is a work in progress but I felt it was far enough along that I could photograph and post it.
My destination is the Portland Japanese Gardens in Oregon. I had an opportunity to go years ago, didn't take advantage of it. I've regretted it ever since. No regrets!!!!!!!! Because I've been to Japan, to Tokyo, to areas around where the Olympics are taking place, any place with a Japanese influence holds a special place in my heart.
Years ago, a Milwaukee company called Paper Adventures had warehouse sales and I happened to buy some folders that were for advertisement of businesses, I think. So that is what I used for the base. Much of what I used outside and inside was ephemera from the long ago trip and things we received as gifts from the people we met there over the years. I have lost touch with them, sadly.
I especially like the crane decor on the front. I forget what the metallic piece is called, it was on the front of a folder I bought there. If I add more to this creation, I'll retake the pictures. I have to figure out how to get my stuff tucked inside.

This is gorgeous! Love the crane and the folder you used. When I was a child I wanted to be Japanese. I viewed Japanese women as petite in stature and refined in nature. I suppose some are, some are not.

That is just fantastic, Jean! We have a crane like that in a frame downstairs, I bought it for DH (;-)) in an attempt to inspire me to do more than just a simple knot with Mizuhiki cord. The entire front is magnificent.

Incorporating your Japanese treasures and gifting them to a lucky SCSer is an offering from your artful heart that I'm sure will have them gasping with luck and delight. Your color combos always fascinate me. Another frame worthy creation, Jean. Wow!

It has been over 50 years since I lived in Japan and I'm not ready to part with a single bit of hoarded ephemera - you have a VERY generous heart and a magnificent sense of design putting this folio together.

Wow, where to start…so many wonderful elements on this cover. The beautifully knotted Mizuhiki cords and especially that stunning crane with elegant wings, the stamped origami cranes, the embossed pink edging - this is all so very pretty!!
