Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us the ultimate in traditional Christmas colors: Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce and Gold. This is the last week for our Christmas in July dessert option.
My card was super simple to make, perfect for mass producing. I use a brayer to apply Cherry Cobbler ink to the debossed side of the embossing folder, then ran it through my machine with a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The ink settles in the nooks and crannies, and really brings out the texture of the design. I dotted some gold paint on the berries, added a sprig of holly, and die cut the greeting from Shaded Spruce cardstock. This card would have been even easier if I had a shadow die for my sentiment; but since I don't, I traced around the die with a pencil on the back of the gold foil cardstock and fussy cut on the line to create the shadow layer. Finallly, I mounted the design layer on a card base of Shaded Spruce.
This month has been great fun, and I've gotten a good start on my cards for this year. I hope it's been helpful for you, too. I can't wait to see what you create in this final week of Christmas in July.

Oh my goodness... love, love, love the rich colors. I am obsessed with the poinsettia embossing folder. Love the technique you used to add depth to it. The gold is like the frosting on the cake. Awesome!

I just love that little bit of extra shading you've added to your pine boughs. It really sets off the sparkle of the gold and the rich greens of this color combo. Perfection!!!
