A friend of ours had a birthday recently. She likes to have tea, so I decided to make a little scene with one of the teacups from "Tea-rrific."
I stamped the teacup onto a pink floral paper from "Vintage Bliss." I fussy cut the main part. I stamped again on a pink polka dot paper from my scrap stash for the saucer & handle, then cut those out.
I wanted 2 cups facing opposite directions, but had only the one stamp. I considered using my mirror image stamp for the second, but changed my mind. I stamped the cup again onto the pink floral & polka dot papers for the cup & saucer parts. I used the handle I had stamped for the first cup as a pattern. I flipped it face-down onto the polka dot paper, traced around that, cut it out, and added the grey outline on the front side with a marker. I ended up not having enough paper to make a whole handle (it had been a small scrap to begin with), so I covered the bottom gap with the tea bag label.
I cut a piece of Icy Mint cardstock to A2 size, and added a patterned paper "tablecloth" to the bottom. I then glued down my cups & saucers, & tucked the top & bottom of the handles behind the edges of the cups.
I stamped the tea bag label twice onto vellum bristol paper. I colored the heart & inner part with my colored pencils. After I cut them out, I punched a hole through the top of each, & threaded through some crochet twine. I poked holes in my background, slightly under the lips of each teacup, & threaded the other end of the twine through. Finally, I adhered the labels to the card.
I stamped one of the greetings from "Your Day" in Versamark ink onto a scrap of teal cardstock. I heat embossed that with Rose Gold powder. The greeting didn't show up well against the teal, so I inked over it with Evergreen Bough to darken the background. I cut it into a banner, & adhered it to my card front. Finally, I added my card front to a white card base.
