It was 2:00 in the morning when I went up to my sewing room to close a window. Spotted this motif in a fabric sample and I could see the possibility of a face, brought it downstairs to the Artzadoni Studio and went back to bed. Next day, I stuck a mailing label onto the back of the fabric before fussy cutting and it stopped the fraying. Why hadn't I thought of this before? I usually use a fabric stiffener or iron on backing. This is much quicker, cheaper and a greener practice. I added teal spots with dimensional glaze, some colored pencil, a soft sponge, more snippets from the fabric, googly eyes and saying. Layered onto a who-knows-how-I-made-it BG from my stash, and then cut down an old yellow file folder for the card.

Lori, you top everyone with the uniqueness of your creature, specially with the hair, LOL! Thank you for the tip with sticking a mailing label on fabric - I've got a lot of fabric, too - but haven't used them in my cards because of fraying.

Lori - you have such a wonderful eye for seeing past "what is" to "what could be". I'm assuming this was some kind of tropical flower but what an awesome monster you turned it into!! That hair is totally giggle worthy.
PS - SO happy you are getting to take a bit of time for yourself and creative "therapy".
